Reiki Healing

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) is a form of energy healing from ancient Tibet, which was rediscovered in the late 19th century by Dr Mikao Usui. Dr usui had been on a 14 year quest to find out how Christ performed healing miracles. He took himself up a mountain where he fasted for 21 days and meditated upon his problem. On the last day he was sent visions of sacred symbols. This enlightenment led him to begin using Reiki.

Before he died, Dr Usui passed on the secret symbols to one of his students who then passed them on to Mrs Hawayo Takata, a Japanese Hawaiian who brought Reiki to the West in the 1940s. When Mrs Takata died in 1980 there were 22 Reiki Masters, nowadays in excess of 200,000 people have been initiated into the Reiki Way.

During a treatment, the therapist draws energy in from around them and channels it to the person in need of healing. It is a deeply relaxing and spiritual treatment with benefits unique to each recipient.
